Abstract

Abstract The national park and human being have reciproced relationship that influence each other. In fact, based on data BPS, household who lived around kerinci seblat national park (KSNP) especially in south pesisir regency where under poverty line about 39%. This situation could threaten KSNP perpetuity. As states in reseach result of Syahni, etc, 2000; Hadi, 2001; and Riyanto, 2005 that household who have low income and education trend to destroy national park perpetuity. So, a research need to be done to know which groups of household destroy KSNP and wjat strategis ar done by poor household to survive around national park. This research has been done in Ngalau Gadang and Koto Langang Village. Method of data analysis which is used T-test to see the difference between poor hoeshold and non poor household. The result shows that poor household behaviour tend to more destroy or not keepthe national park prepetuity than non poor household. These behaviour like : trees felling, animal hunting areused as survive strategis. Other example of strategis in making debit account in the small shop, browing money, thrift, maximazing hausehold member function, working over time, using tradisionally medicine, and doing partnership (kongsi kerja).
