Abstract

Mycorrhiza is one of mutualistic simbiosis between fungi with root system of plant. Ectomycorhiza fungi usually find to simbiosis with some trees, especially the forest plant such as Dipterocarpaceae, Fagaceae, Pinus, Eukaliptus and so on. So far, there is lack of data on the diversity of ectomycorhiza fungi, especially that associate with Shorea sp. in West Sumatera. Therefore, the study on the Ectomycorhiza’s diversity in that area need to be done. In this study, survey and sample collection was done in Pasaman, Solok and Gunung Gadut. The result showed that there were 16 isolates ectomycorhiza fungi found in those area that showed variation in the shape, size, color and the stipe of their basidiocarp; also the shape and color of their spores. Based on the screening isolate at MMN and MEA media, only 8 species that able to grow at the synthetic media.
