Abstract

This research is aimed to identify the relationship between board compliance and firm performance, measured by return on assets and return on equity. The board compliance is measured by good corporate governance codes, which are developed by KNKG 2006. Data are taken from the annual reports from 2004 until 2006 of manufacturing companies listed in Jakarta Stock Exchange. The study results showed that there is no relationship between board compliance and firm performance measured with different indicator both return on assets and return on equity. It means that the higher level of board compliance do not guaranteed better firm performance.
