Abstract

Interest in board committees as part of overall corporate governance has increased dramatically in recent years, with a specific emphasis on existence which is based on the BI regulation. This research aims it identifying the effect of existence of the board committees on firms performance. Moreover, the research is unique because delve deeper into the function of the board by investigating the affect to the gender of important board committees on firms performance as measured by ROE & BOPO. The unit of analysis are 11 banks registered on the Indonesian Stock Exchange for the time period 2003 - 2006.
