Abstract

THE RELATIONSHIP OF LEADERSHIP STYLE AND FOLLOWERSHIP STYLE (CASE: ANDALAS UNIVERSITY) Bachelor Thesis by: Asni Wahyu Safitri Supervisor: Dr. Rahmi Fahmi SE, MBA Abstract The research has the purpose to analyze about the relationship of leadership style of Hersey-Blanchard situational theory to the followership style with two dimensions of independent thinking and active engagement. The research was conducted in the head office of Andalas University. The questionnaires was distributed to 135 employees using random sampling method with the sample is 110 respondents. The data analyzed using SPSS 16. The research found that leadership style has significant relationship to independent thinking but doesn’t have significant relations to active engagement. Moreover, the finding shows that the leadership styles of the leader in Andalas University are selling leader style meanwhile for the followership styles for both dimension of independent thinking and active engagement are pragmatist followership styles.
