Abstract

This paper presents the activity toward the training of the internet use on behalf of the micro and small business enterpreses (MSEs) especially embroidered entrepreses which have been done in Bukittinggi City. The objective of this activity is to improve the understanding and utilizating of the internet in business activities. Additionally, this training is able to improve enterpreneur’s capabilities using internet in term of the improvement of their earnings and the development of marketing activities in national and global market. In the meantime, this activity also is able to assist the government programs related to improve the social welfare in West Sumatra particularly in Bukittinggi. The training have been conducted on Thursday 21th August 2008 which is fasilitated by Deperindagkop offices in Bukittinggi. The 20 participants are the member of the Business Clinic which is managed by Deperindagkop offices. The training subject is related to the basic technology, internet, e-commerce and e-commerce business model for MSBEs using lecturing and two-way discusing methods during 8 sesions in 45 minutes each. This training is evaluated using the in-dept interview to measure the participant’s understanding of the internet use before and after undertaking this activity using TAM (Technology Acceptance Model) including perspectives of use of use and usefulness. The before traning understanding, the mayority of participants are not really sure about the benefits given and how to imply internet for thier business activities. Such in this condition, that the participants have not think yet to use internet for their business. After the internet traning given, there are some changed perceptions of participants, since they have understood numerius benefits using the internet and how to operate the internet for their business activities effectively. Briefly, this training activity is able to improve the intention to use the internet suppoting their business activity in the future. Finally, the internet training is able to give a initial picture toward the internet use in West Sumatra and this picture would be a efective contribution for others related parties likes, goverment agencies, financial institusi, internet providers and others to conduct this training regurarly in the future to improve the growth of MSBEs in West Sumatra.
