Abstract

The research about The Genetics Variation of Oreochromis niloticus L. in West Sumatera has been done with descriptive method based on the electrophoresis of agarose gel for exploring the variation protein bloods (hemoglobin and blood plasma) bands of O. niloticus GIFT and JICA strain in West Sumatera. The result showed the variation protein bloods bands, the hemoglobin structure bands of protein consists of eleven alleles for strain GIFT from Agam, Padang Pariaman and Solok and four alleles for JICA strain from Sawahlunto Sijunjung, while in blood plasm structure bands of protein consists of eight alleles for GIFT strain and three alleles for JICA strain.
