Abstract

This experiment studied somatic embryogenesis of five soybean varieties and their regeneration in in vitro by usingimmature cotyledons explant which was conducted at Plant Tissue Culture Laboratory, Agronomy Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Andalas University. The experiment used some Napthalene Acetic Acid (NAA) concentration which were added to MSO media. Somatic Embryos (SEs) were yielded from this testing which would be regenerated on MSO media that added which chareoal. The result of this experiment indicaed that. NAA is responded by all soybean varieties in yielding SEs. The SEs which were yielded can be regereted and become plantlets. It can be concluded that all varieties that tested responsive to NAA. The best NAA concentration for SEs induction is 10 -14 mg/l media depend on soybean variety
