It has been isolated an isoflavonoid from wasteproduct of tempeh industry as a white brownish amorphous solid, melted at 286º- 289ºC (dec.). the compound was identified based on its organoleptic, melting point, paper chromatography, ultraviolet spectrum by addition of shift reagents and infrared spectrum. It was concluded that the compound was 7,4’-dihidroksiisoflavon or daidzein. Keywords : isoflavonoid, wasteproduct of tempeh industry.
