Abstract
Maltodextrin is a starch derivative product generated from partial hydrolysis by α-amylase enzyme with a value of Dekstrose Equivalent (DE) of less than 20. Maltodekstrin was mixed with water to form colloidal liquid when heated and has the ability as a binder. This study aims to find out the comparison of HFR/DT (Hardness, Friability, Disintegration Time) tablets acetosal use from 5-10 DE maltodextrin rice starch as a binder. Acetosal tablet manufacturing is done by direct method. Concentration of maltodextrin used as a binder in each formula is 5%, 15%, 25% and 35%. The results of statistical tests showed F counted (120.33) is greater than the F table (3.11) so it can be concluded that the real difference among the formulas. The results showed increased concentrations of maltodekstrin DE 5-10 can increase the price of HFR/DT acetosal tablets. The HFR/DT highest obtained the formula 4 is 0.4072 Key words : maltodextrin DE 5-10, rice star, binder, HFR/DT
