Abstract

The Influence of energy drink to the electrogastrogram of human had been investigated by using BIOPAC system. As many as 30 volunteers were divided into 6 groups, each group consists of 5 volunteers were used in this study. A group of volunteers was given mineral water as control, while various trade of energy drinks were given to five others respectively. The drinks were given once in a day for 1 to 3 days. On day first and third, the EGG (frequency and amplitude) were measured in every 30 minutes for 2 hours. The result showed that the frequency and amplitude of volunteers were given ME-IV and ME-V increased, while only amplitude of volunteers treated with ME-II increased significantly (P<0,05). The effect of energy drink started to increase was 30 minutes after drinking of energy drink and the maximum effect was showed after 1 hour. This effect was gradually recovered in 2 hours after energy drink administration. The consumption of energy drink as long as three days could decreased the frequency of volunteer’s EGG (P<0,05) but there was no change of the amplitude of the EGG obtained (P>0,1).
