Abstract
This research is aimed to evaluate the pedormance between two groups at bank in Indonesia, State Own Bank and Private Own Bank CAMELS analysis is used as a proxy the banking performance, in this research consists of CAR as represent of Capital; APB, NPL, PPAP, and PPAPAP as represent of Asset; ROA, RAE, NIM, and BOPO as represent of Earning; and LDR as represent of Liquidity. Financial data are drawn from Published Bank Financial Statement on The Central Bank's Directory for research period 2004-2006. Test was undertaken using Independent Sample t-Test and Mann Whitney Test to compare the difference between two groups of bank in this research. The result indicates that on average The State Own Bank is better than Private Own Bank in Capital Aspec, but in Asset, Earning, and Liquidity Aspec, Private Own Bankis better than State Own Bank PPAPAP ratio is statistically significant dffirence from two groups of bank. Meanwhile, the test toward the CAR, APB, NPL, PPAP, ROA, ROE, NIM, BOPO, and LDR are not statistically significant difference. Keywords: CAMELS analysis and banking performance.
